Description

AM drop-in sessions, 6-8 Oct 2020 | Register by 4pm, 5 Oct || October’s Low Carbon Homes event explores the challenges associated with retrofitting exposed properties set within protected environments, as well as the regular issues associated with rural off-gas communities.

Derbyshire County Council’s Environment and Climate Change Framework sets out how they will work with other councils in Derbyshire to deliver on the 2015 Paris Agreement.

The event is supported by University of Derby experts on Built Environment and Sustainable Business, with support from the Low Carbon Business Network and DE-Carbonise Business programme, which together aim to accelerate the adoption of eco-friendly, low carbon and green products and services in key supply chains across the region.

To respond to the climate emergency and meet the aims of a net-zero Derbyshire by 2050 we need to radically shift the energy efficiency of our homes. Thousands of homes need ‘deep retrofitting’ every year for the next three decades, so the time for action is now. This conference aims to build better understanding of the challenge, our responsibilities for action and create a platform for genuine collaboration that will support citizens, construction firms, architects, planners, housing associations, educators and public servants to ensure Derbyshire is a thriving, healthy and sustainable place to live in the second half of this century.
