AM drop-in sessions | 23-25 Feb 2021 | Register now || Following 2019’s Low Carbon Homes event, the city has committed to developing a retrofit housing plan in time for the 2021 event. This follows the adoption of new science-based climate change targets to become a zero-carbon city by 2038, and the creation of a zero carbon framework by the Manchester Climate Change Agency. The Feb 2021 event will focus on the actions and resources required to deliver the retrofit plan across the city and wider city region, now set to the backdrop of COVID-19 recovery.

Day 1: 09.00-12.00hrs Theme: What have we got to do and how are we doing? We’ll be taking a look at current projects and programmes, and the scale of the challenge ahead. MCS will provide an analysis of current renewables take-up and offer comparison data to highlight opportunities for Manchester to inspire a new generation of home-grown energy Event programme and speakers will be announced shortly
Day 2: 09.00-12.00hrs Theme: What else could we be doing? Sharing experiences from around the UK and further afield, presenters offer insight and ideas that could be adopted by Manchester to accelerate the scaling up of retrofit across the city. We’ll be exploring the fabric first approach, community engagement and the latest technology, including heat pumps. Event programme and speakers will be announced shortly
Day 2: 09.00-12.00hrs Theme: What’s holding us back? Our final morning sessions start to break down the barriers to retrofit at scale, identifying interventions, plans and policies that may be required to support the city’s zero carbon ambition. No blue-sky thinking, but solid, proven ideas for discussion and appraisal. Event programme and speakers will be announced shortly

Low Carbon Homes Manchester

Registration to Low Carbon Homes is free and enables you to join one of our regional events at no cost, either as an observer (with limited participation access) or as a participant with full access to delegate profile lists, networking, one-to-one chat and supporting documentation.  Your level of access is determined by the event organisers, based upon your responses submitted on the registration form below. 

Full access will be provided to representatives from organisations operating and based in the area of interest to our host partners, and who have not attended a previous Low Carbon Homes event this year.  If you do not meet these criteria you may be allocated observer status, enabling you to view and hear presentations only.
