Aileen founded B4 Box Ltd in 2009. The company has generated over £85m of social value, by delivering training and real jobs to people from deprived backgrounds.
Born and raised in Manchester, Aileen McDonnell is a housing and construction professional, specialising in regeneration, social value and training.
Over a 30-year career Aileen has founded several social enterprises including Manchester Care and Repair, Skills2build and more recently, B4Box.
She has held numerous senior board positions in housing organisations, development agencies and a primary care trust.
Aileen conceived and founded B4Box Ltd, a construction company winning contracts in six local authority areas. B4Box delivers construction services in the community, including Empty Homes, kitchen and bathroom upgrades, fire regulation upgrades and other estate-based construction repair. The point of difference is that the workforce is composed of at least 85% hard-to-reach residents, who receive full training delivered by B4Box.

Pioneer in social enterprise contracts, Aileen has a comprehensive understanding of EU procurement laws, and assisted in developing a robust social value contract in Stockport.
